A little bit about me:

Hello! My name is Joshua Garcia. I'm a multifaceted 3D environment artist, visual designer, and developer from Austin, TX.

The concept of digital artistry allowing for the creation of unique, self and culturally expressive experiences for others to also take part in is one of the most exciting things.

My interest in visual design began after becoming familiar with early iOS and Android interfaces. I had already had a fair bit of publishing/visual design background from working with my high school yearbook group and the detail and personality of interfaces in the era of skeuomorphism pulled me into visual design even further. Before long I was creating icon packs and user interface refreshes as well as publishing them for sale on the iPhone's "Cydia" store. (Was some nice extra side money as a teenager!) That curiosity and experimentation eventually grew into a broader interest into the composition of visual languages, user interaction in the digital space, and eventually 3D creation.

Since then, I’ve built up experience across a wide range of visual, UX/UI, and 3D projects—website and interface redesigns, digital product visuals, game asset creation including models, textures, materials, and shaders, and now a full-on indie game development project. I enjoy exploring different mediums, and I tend to approach each project with the same goal: create something engaging, visually distinctive, and fun.

Along the way, I studied at Texas State University, Austin Community College, and completed The University of Texas at Austin’s UX/UI program, which helped refine the foundation I’d already been building, though most of my growth has come from hands-on work, experimentation, and the personal projects I’ve worked on and shared with the world.
